The One Disaster

I have never seen a brand disaster like this one. I go through YouTube, and creators I have never even heard of are chiming in - they are hurt, scared, and upset. Many are walking away and switching games.

There are a few holdouts saying 1.0a can't be undone. But another issue is 1.1 claims everything, by the leaked wording, videos are covered under the license, and people's news and let's play channels are too.

Even if 1.0a is left alone, the disaster going forward is an entirely different issue for 1.1.

And there is no word from the companies involved, and it has been a few days. To let this sit and fester without releasing a statement is horrendous mismanagement and crisis response. The management team is MIA and silent.

Even if the leaks are false (but they come from journalists and a reputable gaming site), the silence is 100% unacceptable. I feel it is causing harm to the brand, game, and community.

This is a level of implosion and brand disaster I have not seen in quite a while. This is not some failed comeback like G4 was; this is a brand at the top of the market, beloved, completely imploding on itself.

I can't see a way forward from this other than:

• Releasing an OGL 1.0b and making that an irrevocable license with the same exact wording.
• Firing the top management teams involved, and those who approved of this.

If those are not done, I am not coming back.
